Since some of us spent a little time at the Confederate Reunion Grounds last Saturday, I thought this might be of interest. As you can see on the letterhead, this camp was located in Mexia.

This house is on East Hopkins, across the alley from the house where I used to live on Hunt Street. It was owned by Raleigh Farren, who opened the Root Beer Stand. I thought it was an interesting house when I was a kid, but it's been in sad shape lately. Looks like someone might be restoring it now.
