Anyone remember Gurley Bills? What year was this taken? Any ideas?
Bill Crider on the left, Bob Tyus on the right, unidentified girl in the middle. At the State Fair of Texas, fall of 1959.
It's funny, the things that stick in your mind for nearly 50 years. I still remember seeing the movie that inspired this poem. Miss Minnie took us to the film room to see it, but I don't think she'd previewed it. The narrator kept referring to "typers" instead of "typists," she she talked about that for a several days.

This is the stage decoration for the Junior-Senior Prom in 1956. Those are mannequins, not students, and the stage is at the Ross Avenue Elementary Cafetorium.
Remember when I posted the article about the senior trip and mentioned the resolution passed by the senate while we were in the chamber? I said I couldn't find my copy of the resolution. Well, I found it. Note the signature of the President of the Senate. John Black is married to Kay Ramsey.

These little cedar chests were give away by Henderson's Electric. Unfortunately it's impossible to read the inscription in the photo. Does anybody still have one of these?
If you want to read the long article that goes with this photo (it's pretty interesting), click here. Mr. Haney will be 80 on August 19. If you want to send a card, here's the last known address: 2342 briargate, bryan, tx., 77802.
Beth Parker, left, and Mary Lane peel potatoes in the make-believe village of Anatevka, the setting for Fiddler on The Roof, previewed for persons who attended the Thursday night program and dinner at Tehuacana.
Rodney Allbright on the left, Raymond Thomas on the left. Imagine the panic this scene would cause on a school campus today. Both guys wearing pistols, and one of them with a bullwhip. Raymond was cool. Not even Clint Eastwood ever wore his pistol slung that low.
From Dana Moss: "Here is a picture of Neil and me, made when we were about 12 and 14. He lived on Main about 2 houses down from Ross. The picture is looking back toward town. We had been to the fair in Waco and won a paper boy paper throwing contest in front of several thousand people. Neil won first place and got the bicycle and I won third and got the football."
Remember the Kendrick & Horn menu? (If you don't, click here.) I should have remembered to post this picture with the menu.
Sandra Romain on horseback. Now we know who Lee Marvin copied when he won that Oscar for Cat Ballou.
